Tony Korfman, a poker pro and an author, passed away at the age of 71. As per reports, he had an accident which broke his hip. Tony could not recover from the injury and succumbed to it.
Tony had a glorious poker career. His biggest win was at the World Series of Poker of 2007, titled $1k World Championship Seniors. He came a close second in the tournament and managed to pocket $217,503. His life-long earnings from poker have been around $355,320.
Apart from being a part of several poker championships, Tony also worked at several casinos. He even penned down ten books on gambling. Eight of the books were part of a series covering various games like Baccarat, Poker, Craps, Slots, Keno, Blackjack, Video Poker and Roulette.
Tony was known for making colourful choices in life. Though he might have come across short-tempered and rude at time to a few, many remember him as the funny, nice guy who would always make everyone at the table crack up with his jokes. He was also a brilliant storyteller, which reflected in his writing too.
Tony had been married to his wife Linda for 48 years and has five children, eight grand kids and to great-grand kids. People who knew him closely will always remember him as one of the kindest people in their life. He never hesitated from helping people and has touched the life of many with his generosity. His family revealed that there was not a single day when people did not come to him to thank him for his support.
Tony loved his family and always made sure that he got to spend enough quality time with them, despite his busy schedule. Apart from poker, he also enjoyed playing basketball and football.
